According to data from the financial statements presented by entities, except non-commercial organizations, banks, insurance companies, savings and loan associations.

Size of enterprise

The reporting criteria for the small and medium enterprises sector are determined according to the Law of the Republic of Moldova no. 179/2016 'Regarding small and medium-sized enterprises': a) average annual number of employees (scripted average number of staff during the management period) up to 250, and b) achieve an annual turnover (sales revenue) of up to 100 million lei or have total assets (fixed assets and current assets) of up to 100 million lei. (changes in force from 02.12.2022)

Size of enterprise

Medium

Medium-sized enterprises are enterprises that have at most 249 employees, achieve an annual turnover of up to 100 million lei or have total assets of up to 100 million lei, and are not micro or small enterprises.

Small

Small enterprises are considered to have at most 49 employees, achieve an annual turnover of up to 50 million lei or have total assets of up to 50 million lei and are not micro enterprises;

Micro

Micro enterprises are enterprises that have at most 9 employees, achieve an annual turnover of up to 18 million lei or have total assets of up to 18 million lei;

Data for 2021 were recalculated according to new criteria of small and medium enterprises, in force from 02.12.2022
